Marine electric propulsion

More than a motor.
A complete system.

Electric outboards let boat owners, builders and operators move away from petrol propulsion without redesigning the hull around an inboard drive. YESEN Technologies works with ELCO electric outboards manufactured by Elco Motor Yachts in the USA, matching the motor to your vessel, sizing and integrating the battery, designing the electrical and control architecture, and supporting installation.

A motor is only one part of an electric boat. Performance, safety and reliability depend on how the motor, battery, protection and controls work together. YESEN assesses your vessel and its operational cycle first, then recommends a propulsion package — a system selected for your boat, rather than a motor chosen on horsepower alone.

ELCO Electric Outboard

EP-30

Nominal voltage
96 V
Electrical input
15.8 kW
Weight
40.8 kg

The EP-30 runs from a nominal 96 V battery system, with 15.8 kW continuous electrical input and Elco’s stated replacement range of 25–34 hp. At 90 lb / 40.8 kg, Elco describes it as slightly lighter than standard 20 hp petrol outboards. Battery selection, circuit protection and charger compatibility need careful engineering at this higher system voltage.

Key features

  • Nominal 96 V, operating range 90–115 V; 165 A maximum continuous current
  • Brushless PMAC motor with single-gear drive
  • 15.8 kW continuous electrical input
  • Tiller or remote throttle; short or long shaft; dual top-mount throttle for twin installations
  • Optional electric trim and tilt, DASH Bluetooth interface and NMEA 2000 gateway

Suitable applications

  • Lake and reservoir boats, and heavily loaded boats that need extra docking power
  • Replacement of 25–34 hp petrol outboards, subject to assessment

ELCO Electric Outboard

EP-50

Nominal voltage
96 V
Electrical input
38.4 kW
Weight
86.2 kg

The EP-50 uses a more robust chassis and a larger 9⅞ × 12 in propeller. Elco lists 38.4 kW continuous electrical input at a nominal 96 V, with a replacement range of 35–55 hp. At 190 lb / 86.2 kg, it is suitable for larger vessels. The high current calls for carefully engineered battery banks, cabling and protection: YESEN assesses the complete system, not the motor alone.

Key features

  • Nominal 96 V, operating range 80–120 V; 400 A maximum continuous current
  • Brushless PMAC motor with single-gear drive
  • 38.4 kW continuous electrical input
  • Tiller or remote throttle; short or long shaft; dual top-mount throttle for twin installations
  • Optional Panther Model 135 electric trim and tilt, DASH Bluetooth interface and NMEA 2000 gateway

Suitable applications

  • Replacement of 35–55 hp petrol outboards, subject to assessment
